ESPOO CINÉ INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Espoo Ciné International Film Festival was founded in 1990. Since then it has doubled its audience and grown to be one of the most important international film festivals in Finland. Espoo Ciné is a general film festival focusing on new European cinema, with special sections as eg. fantastic films and gay films.

As a member of EFFFF, Espoo Ciné organizes annually a Méliès d’Argent competition for European fantastic films. The audience award is given annually to the best European film with no Finnish distributor. If the winner finds a distributor in Finland, Espoo Ciné supports the distributor with a special grant. The highlights of the festival include outdoor screenings, audience seminars with well known international film makers, special screenings with live music and important sneak previews.

Espoo Ciné is supported by the City of Espoo, the State of Finland and the MEDIA programme. The most important annual sponsors of the festival are DHL, the national TV channel Nelonen and the local radio station Radio Helsinki.

Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2011
